Eduvos

Founded 1979

Eduvos is one of South Africa’s largest independent private higher education institutions, with 12 campuses across the country and a head office in Midrand, Gauteng. Although its current brand dates from 2021, its roots reach back to 1979 with the founding of the Computer Training Institute (CTI), which later merged with the Midrand Graduate Institute to become the Pearson Institute of Higher Education (PIHE); following a change of ownership, PIHE rebranded as Eduvos with a new focus on high-quality, blended learning across Africa. Today it educates more than 23,000 students from over 50 nationalities.

Eduvos is a registered private higher education institution with the Department of Higher Education and Training (registration number 2001/HE07/008) under the Higher Education Act, and its qualifications are accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee of the Council on Higher Education and recorded on the National Qualifications Framework by SAQA. It offers over 20 accredited qualifications – from higher certificates and pre-degree foundation programmes to bachelor’s degrees, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas – across five faculties: Applied Science, Commerce, Humanities, Information Technology and Law. It is one of the few private providers offering degrees in fields such as IT, biosciences and creative arts.

With campuses in Midrand, Pretoria, Bedfordview, Vanderbijlpark, Potchefstroom, Mbombela, Durban, East London, Gqeberha, Tyger Valley, Mowbray and Bloemfontein – plus online and distance options – Eduvos emphasises employability, modern facilities and flexible, future-focused learning. It has been voted South Africa’s best private higher education provider by PMR.africa for three consecutive years. Full programme, fee and admissions details are available directly from the institution.
