Merchiston Preparatory School is an independent boys’ preparatory school in Pietermaritzburg, founded in 1892 and inspired by Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh. Educating day boys from Grade RR to Grade 7, with boarding from Grade 3, it is one of the oldest preparatory schools in KwaZulu-Natal.
