Cornwall Hill College
Cornwall Hill College is a leading independent, co-educational school set on a 25-hectare estate in Irene, Centurion, on the southern edge of Pretoria. Founded in 1998, it has quickly established itself as one of South Africa’s top independent schools, educating around 1,700 to 1,800 pupils from Grade 000 to Grade 12 and offering boarding for high-school learners. Its motto, Singuli Omnes (“One and All”), reflects a close, family-like community.
The school runs a three-tier structure – Pre-Preparatory (Grade 000 to 0), Preparatory (Grades 1 to 7) and College (Grades 8 to 12) – allowing teaching to be tailored to each age group while still enabling mentoring across the phases. Built on traditional values of honesty, integrity, compassion and responsibility coupled with a forward-thinking approach, Cornwall Hill offers a values-based, pupil-centred education with small tutor groups of no more than 18.
Academically the school writes the IEB National Senior Certificate and has maintained a 100% matric pass rate since it opened, with pupils gaining entrance to leading universities in South Africa and abroad. Co-curricular life is broad and well-resourced across sport, culture and service, and the school is recognised as one of the top equestrian schools in Gauteng.
Facilities are excellent: beautiful buildings with an old-world feel sit alongside state-of-the-art sporting, cultural and academic amenities on the spacious estate, plus comfortable boarding accommodation with supervised study for high-school boarders. Fees can be paid annually, termly or monthly (recent boarding fees are around R90,000 per year); full tuition and admissions details are available from the school, and early application is advised for entry grades.
