Creston College
Creston College is a co-educational independent school on spacious grounds at Oslo Beach near Port Shepstone, on the lower South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, enjoying stunning ocean views. Now a Curro Select School within the Curro group, it provides education for boys and girls from age 3 to Grade 12 across four phases – Pre-Primary, Junior Primary, Senior Primary and College (Grade 8 to 12) – and draws pupils from Port Edward to Scottburgh, supported by an efficient transport system. A member of ISASA, the school places great emphasis on the close-knit “Creston family” while giving each phase room to develop its own identity.
Grounded in a Christian ethos, Creston builds the values of integrity, self-discipline, independent thinking and respect into the fabric of school life, and places particular emphasis on developing leadership skills across every phase. Academically, it follows the national CAPS curriculum through Curro’s project-based learning and self-discovery approach, with learners writing the General Education Certificate at the end of Grade 9 and the IEB examination at the end of Grade 12; specialist subjects include Robotics and Coding and Sport and Exercise Science, with additional digital elective subjects available.
The school promotes an active, healthy lifestyle – participation in at least one sport is compulsory – and culture plays a significant role, embodying the “harmony” of its mission. Creston even hosts the annual Hibiscus Coast Music Eisteddfod, and its College learners script and design their own modern stage productions. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
