Get Ahead College is a Christian-based independent high school nestled among the hills of Komani (Queenstown), in the northern Eastern Cape, offering education from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Based in Queendustria on the road towards Ezibeleni, it forms part of the Get Ahead Project Trust – a family of schools that also includes primary projects in Queenstown and Whittlesea, together educating around 1,000 learners. The project grew out of a group of parents who believed that strong English-language development was key to giving local children a better education, and expanded significantly after 2002 when the Canadian Leacock Foundation, inspired by a visit, became a long-term partner – a relationship celebrated in the cross-continental “Triangle of Hope” with Canadian schools.

True to its mission of making “every child feel worthy and validated,” Get Ahead College combines academic excellence with a full extra-mural programme and a strong, supportive Christian community. It is proud to be the first and only IEB school in Komani, offering the rigorous, internationally benchmarked Independent Examinations Board curriculum, which emphasises critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity.

The college aims to be a leading STREAM school in Africa, with a “4th Industrial Revolution” classroom environment and a strong focus on technology designed to ensure its graduates are “masters of technology, never its slave.” Discipline and structure provide the framework within which creativity and critical thinking thrive, and above all the school strives to be a place where every child can discover their unique giftedness and flourish. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
