Overview of Optimi College
Optimi College is a private registered college that offers over 150 accredited qualifications and short courses for adult learners. Since 2007, Optimi College has assisted thousands of students to complete their studies and achieve their educational goals. We pride ourselves in offering accessible and affordable education for anyone – from adult matric certificates to top quality industry-recognised diplomas and internationally recognised IT certifications.
What do we do?
Optimi College recognises the importance of flexibility in education, which is why our courses are offered either via distance learning or digital learning.
Our courses are broadly grouped into four academies: Adult Education Academy, Commerce Academy, IT Academy, and Technical Academy.

Our history
Optimi College has a proud history of delivering quality distance and online education in South Africa and even abroad, and throughout its evolution, the core values shaping the company have remained the same: to provide accessible learning opportunities to learners from all walks of life.
In 2019, Optimi acquired College SA, a well-known distance learning college established in 2007, in a bid to broaden its offering in the distance learning space. College SA was initially established in partnership with the Curro School Group, as Curro College. In 2008, the Curro School Partners sold their shares, and Curro College became College SA.
In a statement, Optimi said that “the acquisition of College SA is an opportunity to enter the TVET market and make quality learning more accessible as it is a new market segment.” The institution rebranded and Optimi College was established.
In 2021, Optimi College acquired IT Academy, a leading South African IT training institution offering digital learning, distance learning and full-time, face-to-face courses, allowing it to significantly expand on the IT courseware it offers its learners. By integrating IT Academy’s courses into Optimi College’s broader programme, Optimi College has positioned itself to better cater to the needs of its learners.
Present day Optimi College provides accessible and affordable course options, ranging from accredited qualifications to non-accredited short learning programmes in various fields of interest. Backed by the Optimi Group, it continues to innovate and adapt its offering to remain current in an everchanging world. The Optimi Group provides offerings in 4 divisions: Home, Workplace, Classroom and College. Together, these divisions service over 200 000 learners per annum
