Established in 1966, the Vaal University of Technology has evolved into a prominent Higher Education Institution, attracting students from across the nation and the continent. It stands as one of the largest residential Universities of Technology in southern Gauteng, boasting an enrollment of approximately 20,000 students.
Nestled in a region rich in heritage and home to key industries such as metal, steel, engineering, and telecommunications, the university is well-supported in its pursuit of its vision and mission. This environment fosters the development of well-rounded global citizens among VUT graduates, contributing significantly to human capital development within the region, the nation, and the continent.
Operating primarily from its main campus in Vanderbijlpark, the Vaal University of Technology has strategically aligned itself with government initiatives in southern Gauteng, notably through the establishment of the VUT Southern Gauteng Science and Technology Park in Sebokeng.
