Curro Vanderbijlpark
Curro Vanderbijlpark is an independent, co-educational school in Vanderbijlpark, in the Vaal Triangle south of Johannesburg, part of the Curro group. It educates learners from Grade R (age 5) – with a preschool phase too – through to Grade 12, across a primary and high school, and writes the IEB National Senior Certificate.
The school teaches the national CAPS curriculum through Curro’s signature project-based, self-discovery approach, with small classes for individual attention and a strong focus on 21st-century skills such as creativity, collaboration and independent thinking. Technology is woven in through tablets and a Robotics programme that runs throughout the school, and learners can take Afrikaans or Sesotho as an additional language; senior pupils can also access additional elective subjects taught live online by Curro teachers.
Academics are balanced with a varied programme of sport and culture – including cricket, netball, cheerleading, music, photography and a robotics club – chosen to suit the interests of the local community, supporting the holistic development of each child.
The school offers modern, state-of-the-art facilities, including IT and robotics labs and well-equipped classrooms, on a secure campus, along with a school transport service. Recent matric (Grade 12) fees are around R95,000 per year; full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
