Eduplex
Eduplex is a dynamic independent Christian school in Queenswood, one of Pretoria’s oldest suburbs, offering parallel-medium (English and Afrikaans) education across a Pre-School, Primary School and High School. Established in 2002, it educates learners from pre-school through to Grade 12 and writes the IEB National Senior Certificate.
Eduplex is internationally renowned as a model for inclusive education: a small number of deaf and hard-of-hearing children are included in each mainstream class of hearing peers, where – through an auditory-verbal approach – they learn to listen and speak without using sign language. This pioneering model is shared worldwide through the Eduplex Training Institute, which trains teachers, professionals and parents in inclusive education for children with hearing loss. Underpinned by a Biblical worldview and a strong value system, the school combines this inclusivity with high academic standards.
Teaching is built on a fully differentiated, multi-level approach that emphasises problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity, with small classes (an optimum of around 25 learners), classroom assistants and a high staff-to-pupil ratio ensuring individual attention. The school’s continuous professional-development programmes are widely acclaimed. Academically it excels, with a 100% IEB Grade 12 pass rate and around 98% university exemption.
Eduplex focuses on the holistic development of each child through integrated academic, sport and cultural programmes, with strong emphasis on leadership and entrepreneurial skills. The campus offers sports facilities and tennis courts, and aftercare is available. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
