Parklands College

Parklands College is a dynamic independent, co-educational school on Cape Town’s Western Seaboard, drawing learners from Parklands, Table View, Blouberg, Milnerton, Melkbosstrand and beyond. It began as the Christopher Robin Pre-Primary School, founded by Lorraine Roth in 1980, with Parklands College itself opening in 1998 and a dedicated secondary campus following in 2012. Today the College educates children from age 1 to Grade 12 across several campuses, following the national CAPS curriculum through to the National Senior Certificate.

Parklands is one of South Africa’s most technology-forward schools – recognised as an Apple Distinguished School and one of only two Google Reference Schools in Africa. Learners are introduced to iPads in Grade R and move into a 1:1 Apple environment from Grade 1 through to Grade 12, with technology woven across the curriculum. Its state-of-the-art media studios and coding incubator support extension courses in film, animation, sound engineering and mobile app development, and learners can earn internationally recognised certifications such as CompTIA, AutoCAD and Adobe ACA. Guided by its “Growing Minds” framework of global competencies and its motto “Reaching Outwards, Growing Minds, Building Futures,” the school aims to develop confident, independent, compassionate and globally conscious young people, supported by initiatives such as the Oyster Centre for learners experiencing barriers to learning.

Beyond academics, Parklands offers a rich co-curricular programme spanning sport (rugby, hockey, cricket, swimming, water polo, netball, tennis, athletics and more), music, dance, drama, debating and outreach, developing each child academically, emotionally, socially and physically.
