Hatfield Christian School
Hatfield Christian School is an independent Christian school in Pretoria East (Waterkloof Glen), established in 1985 as a ministry of the Hatfield Christian Church. It educates around 750 pupils from Grade 000 to Grade 12 and writes the IEB National Senior Certificate, teaching the national CAPS curriculum interpreted from a Biblical perspective.
The school’s vision is “to train leaders who will serve nations,” and it sets out to help each pupil grow in wisdom, in stature and in favour with God and man (Luke 2:52), equipping young people with a Biblical worldview across every subject and developing the whole child – spiritually, intellectually, physically and socially – in partnership with parents. Classes are deliberately small (a maximum of around 24 in the primary school and 26 in the high school, with both a teacher and an assistant in the foundation phase), creating a nurturing environment for individual attention.
Academically the school has an outstanding record, with pupils excelling in the IEB examinations and consistently strong university-pass and distinction rates since its inception. It offers a full cultural and sports programme – including cricket, equestrian, debating and more – alongside aftercare facilities, and also runs the Hatfield Christian Online School.
Set on a campus in Pretoria East, Hatfield Christian School is a day school (no boarding). Recent high-school fees are in the region of R70,000 a year, with lower fees in the junior grades; full fee and admissions details are available from the school.
