Holy Family College
Holy Family College is an independent, co-educational Catholic school on Oxford Road in Parktown, Johannesburg, established in 1905 and housed in a beautiful Edwardian heritage building. A registered non-profit, it educates children across three phases – a pre-school (ages 1 to 6), a Preparatory School (Grades 1 to 7) and a High School (Grades 8 to 12) – and writes the IEB National Senior Certificate, following the CAPS and IEB curricula. Weekly and termly boarding is offered to high-school girls in a purpose-built, secure section of the campus.
As a Catholic school, Holy Family strives to inspire young people to live out Gospel values of faith, hope and love, while warmly welcoming pupils of every gender, race, culture and religion. It pairs this ethos with a progressive approach to education and genuine inclusivity – its primary school provides mainstream schooling to a number of visually impaired learners alongside their peers.
The College has a rich sense of history and place: its campus hosts a museum, run with the Johannesburg Heritage Foundation, where visitors can experience a 1905 attic classroom and learn about the early days of gold-mining Johannesburg. Co-curricular life includes choir, chess, debating, a UN club, a magazine club and a museum club, alongside sport.
Set on a leafy, historic site close to the heart of Johannesburg, Holy Family College offers a nurturing, family-like community. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
