Ashton International College Ballito
Ashton International College Ballito is an independent, English-medium, co-educational school with a Christian ethos, set in the heart of Ballito on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. It educates students from Grade 0000 right through to Grade 12, striving for excellence across academics, sport and culture under its motto Sedulus Praestantia (“Excellence Belongs to the Zealous”), within a warm, family-oriented environment built on traditional morals and values.
Ashton’s signature offering is what it calls “Two Worlds in One”: uniquely, the school provides both the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) and the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curricula. On entering the Senior College in Form 1 (Grade 8), students experience a cross-curriculum of both before choosing their pathway – those who qualify may follow the Cambridge route, writing the IGCSE and then Cambridge AS and A Levels, while others write the South African IEB National Senior Certificate. The early years draw on the Reggio Emilia philosophy, and the school even has a dedicated wing supporting children with autism. For a relatively young school, its results are outstanding, with a 100% pass rate across both curricula for well over a decade and students placed top in South Africa and top in the world in the Cambridge examinations.
Co-curricular life is exceptional, supported by world-class facilities – including an international-standard FIH indoor hockey arena and astroturf, rugby fields, a heated pool, and multiple theatres and performance halls – alongside a vibrant arts programme spanning drama, music, choir, marimba and an annual Arts Festival. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
