Brescia House School is one of South Africa’s leading independent Catholic girls’ schools, set in the heart of Bryanston, Sandton. Established in 1966 by the Ursuline Sisters of the Roman Union – at the request of the local Bishop – it educates girls from Grade R to Grade 12, and in 2024 added the co-educational Brescia Bears Early Learning Centre for children aged 3 to 5. The school celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2026.

Brescia is part of a worldwide Ursuline network of schools and runs a Global Education Programme that connects pupils with Ursuline counterparts around the world through travel and online collaboration. Its motto, Serviam (“I will serve”), reflects a strong ethos of service, and while the Catholic Ursuline character underpins school life, Brescia warmly welcomes pupils of all denominations within a caring, values-based environment.

Academically the school is consistently excellent, writing the IEB and achieving 100% matric pass and 100% university-entrance rates, with pupils regularly placed in the national top 1% of subjects. Beyond the classroom, Brescia offers a rich co-curricular programme: sports include swimming, diving, artistic swimming, hockey, netball, soccer, athletics, tennis, cross-country and orienteering, plus an equestrian team and CrossFit, while cultural life spans public speaking, debating and music.

Facilities are excellent, including heated aquatic complexes, two hockey fields, a mini-astro and eight tennis/netball courts, alongside modern classrooms and aftercare. Details on fees and the admissions process are available directly from the school.
