Curro Durbanville Primary School is an independent, co-educational primary school in Sonstraal Heights, Durbanville, in Cape Town’s northern suburbs, and part of the national Curro Holdings group. It provides the Curro education to learners from Grade R to Grade 7 (with a pre-school catering for younger children from around age 2), feeding into the separate Curro Durbanville High School.

The school deliberately keeps class sizes small – no more than 20 learners per class – so that each child receives personal attention. It teaches the national CAPS curriculum through an approach built on project-based learning and self-discovery, encouraging learners to explore the material beyond the textbook through research, experiments and assignments, while still using regular assessments and tests. The foundation phase eases Grade R learners into formal schooling and lays the basics of literacy and numeracy, and from the intermediate phase work becomes progressively more independent and abstract. Teaching takes place in English and Afrikaans, with both offered as language options, and learners benefit from Coding and Robotics as subjects right up to Grade 7.

Beyond academics, the school offers a range of value-added programmes, sport and cultural activities to develop well-rounded learners, along with aftercare and school-transport options. As part of the Curro group, learners also enjoy preference when applying to other Curro schools. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
