Grantleigh is a co-educational independent school with a Christian ethos, set on a farm just north of Richards Bay on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, amid manicured lawns, trees and sugarcane plantations. It was founded by Fred and Renette Grant on their family farm, opening its doors on 21 January 1997 with just 16 pre-schoolers and five young boys, after they recognised the need for a quality school in the area. The school grew quickly – reaching Grade 12 and its first Matric class by 2003 – and in 2014 joined the Curro group as a Curro Select school. Today it educates around 720 learners from Grade RRR to Grade 12 across its prep, middle and high schools, and offers boarding to boys from Grade 4 and girls from Grade 8.

Guided by its motto “To God Be The Glory,” Grantleigh provides a holistic, values-based education. It follows the national CAPS curriculum through Curro’s project-based learning and self-discovery approach, and as an IEB school writes the internationally recognised IEB matric examination at the end of Grade 12 – maintaining a 100% matric pass rate for several years. Small class sizes ensure individual attention, while its boarding establishment provides a safe, caring “home away from home” for learners from further afield.

Academics are balanced with a full programme of sport and cultural activities on well-kept fields and courts, and the school offers aftercare and school transport. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
