Harvest Christian School
Harvest Christian School is an independent, co-educational Christian day school in Walmer, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), educating boys and girls from around age three through to Grade 12. Established in 1982, it is connected to Harvest Christian Church and exists to provide Christian families with an education that promotes both academic achievement and spiritual growth. Across its pre-primary, primary and high school phases, Jesus Christ and the Word of God form the foundation of all academic, cultural, sporting and community-outreach endeavours, and everything the school does is summed up in its motto, “To Know Him.”
The school’s ethos is unashamedly built on a biblical worldview, with Bible-based curricula introduced from the earliest years and biblical integration woven throughout. As an independent school, Harvest is affiliated to the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and writes the internationally recognised Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examinations in the high school. Its academic record is strong – a 100% matric pass rate for several consecutive years, with the school ranking among the top 30 in South Africa for Mathematics according to a University of Pretoria analysis – supported by small classes and skilled, pastorally motivated subject specialists.
Harvest offers a rich, integrated programme of sport, culture and outreach, including less traditional codes such as equestrian and a vibrant music department offering tuition in wind, strings, drums, marimbas and piano alongside award-winning choirs. Student leadership, mentoring, mission trips and camps all help pupils discover their God-given potential and purpose. Aftercare and homework supervision are also provided. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
