King David Sandton is a Jewish co-educational school in Woodmead, Sandton, part of the King David Schools network run under the auspices of the South African Board of Jewish Education (SABJE). The Sandton campus offers nursery and primary education (Grade R to Grade 7), from which pupils progress into the King David high school, and – like all King David schools – ultimately writes the IEB National Senior Certificate, with the network’s pass rates historically very high and pupils often ranked among the best nationally.

Part of a network dating to 1948, King David delivers an excellent general education together with the study of Hebrew, Jewish Studies and the living of the Jewish calendar. Run along traditional Orthodox lines while welcoming children from all Jewish backgrounds, the school’s purpose is to produce graduates who are “menschen” – confident, proud of their Jewish heritage, with a love of learning and a commitment to society. A warm sense of belonging and Jewish identity sits at its heart, alongside strong academics supported by ACER international benchmarking, a Master Maths programme and a digital learning approach.

The beautifully maintained campus offers excellent facilities, including a computer lab, a media and library centre, an Israel centre, a science laboratory, art and music centres, a 25m swimming pool, all-weather tennis and netball courts, cricket fields with Astro pitches and nets, and air-conditioned, interactive Foundation Phase classrooms. Co-curricular life spans sport, the arts and Jewish life. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
