The Bridge Assisted Learning School is an independent “assisted learning” school in Johannesburg offering premium inclusive education for children who face barriers to learning. Founded in 2018, its main campus in Lonehill (Beverley, Sandton) caters for Grade R to Grade 12, with a second campus in Morningside (opened in 2024) phasing in additional grades. The school prepares students for a mainstream IEB matric and pathways to tertiary education.

The Bridge serves children of average to above-average ability whose learning is impacted by challenges such as ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, mild autism or anxiety, or who have experienced illness or trauma affecting their schooling – children who are often not fully catered for in either mainstream or special-needs schools. Following a neurodiverse approach, it teaches each student according to an individualised development plan, with classes ranging from learning-assisted environments to specialised IEP classes offering advanced remedial support.

A key strength is its multi-disciplinary specialist team: all therapies are available in-house, with therapists and teachers working together so that every child is included, supported and given the best opportunity to reach their potential – building not only skills but self-esteem and confidence. Fees are all-inclusive, covering specialised therapy and personalised support.

Holistic development is built in through a mandatory extra-curricular programme (at least one sport or cultural activity each term) and clubs such as Robotics, Coding, Science and Maths. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
