Curro Salt Rock is an independent, co-educational school in the New Salt Rock City estate at Salt Rock, near Ballito on KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast, and part of the national Curro group. Set in beautiful surroundings just off the N2 – minutes from Salt Rock Beach and close to Ballito Junction Mall and the Simbithi Country Club – it offers the Curro education from its Curro Castle nursery (from three months old) and Grade R through the primary school to a high school running from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Teaching takes place in English and Afrikaans, with isiZulu offered as a conversational language from Grade 1, and the school writes the IEB matric examination at the end of Grade 12.

Class sizes are capped at around 25 learners so each child receives personal attention, and the national CAPS curriculum is delivered through Curro’s signature project-based learning and self-discovery approach – emphasising world-readiness and 21st-century skills such as creativity, problem-solving and independent thinking rather than a purely exam-driven focus. Specialised subjects include Robotics (introduced through Duplo Lego in Grade R), Technology, Engineering Graphics and Design and Computer Applications Technology.

Academics are balanced with a strong sporting and cultural programme – from mountain biking and golf to the Curro Create arts programmes – supported by excellent facilities including an eight-lane swimming pool, multipurpose sports fields, an indoor hockey and soccer facility, dance and culture studios and a reading centre. Aftercare and school transport are also available. Full fee and admissions details are available directly from the school.
